About NAPS

The North American Pelvic Society (NAPS) is being established to create a leading academic and professional community for orthopaedic surgeons specializing in pelvic and acetabular trauma across North America. Bringing together surgeons from the United States, Canada, and Mexico, NAPS is designed to foster collaboration among clinicians, educators, and researchers committed to advancing the care of these complex injuries.

The primary goal of NAPS is to unify the efforts of pelvic and acetabular surgeons throughout North America into a single society dedicated to improving patient outcomes. Because these injuries are relatively uncommon, technically demanding, and highly variable in presentation, many institutions encounter limited case volumes and diverse treatment challenges. By connecting experienced surgeons across centers, regions, and countries, NAPS seeks to encourage collaboration, reduce unnecessary variation in care, and advance thoughtful, evidence-based approaches grounded in sound science and shared expertise

FOUNDING VISION

Why this society matters

Pelvic and acetabular trauma care remains highly specialized, with expertise often dispersed across institutions and regions. Because these injuries are relatively uncommon, technically demanding, and highly variable in presentation, many centers encounter limited case volume and diverse treatment challenges. NAPS is designed to reduce fragmentation, support collaboration, and encourage stronger, more consistent treatment approaches grounded in sound science and shared expertise.
